Grew up in Florence, Alabama, and graduated from the University of North Alabama with a BS in Management in 1982 and a Masters In Secondary Education in 2008. Currently is the Payroll Supervisor for a 21,000 student public school system in the Birmingham, AL metro area. Prior to starting a career in education, he served over 20 years in various senior management positions within commercial and community banks in Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. Began officiating football in 1983 in Mississippi. Became an Alabama high school certified official in football and basketball in 2004. Started as Umpire and has been a Referee for the past 7 years. Served the Shelby Football Officials Association as President for 3 years and now assists in training and evaluation. He directs an annual fundraising pickleball tournament for the Alabama Sports Officials Foundation to provide college scholarships to children and grandchildren of Alabama sports officials. He also serves the Alabama High School Athletic Association as the PA announcer for the State High School Volleyball Championships. Resides in Birmingham, AL with his wife Jackie. He has two daughters, two step-sons, one step-daughter, and four grandchildren. Stan loves to play Pickleball and has also started training to become a certified Pickleball Referee.
